October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and the volleyball team had their annual Pink Out game on October 7th against the Benton Cardinals.
The team did a lot of fundraising prior to the game to be donated to the St. Francis Hospital Foundation at the Mosaic Medical Center - Maryville Cancer Care Patient Assistance Fund. The funds donated will help with transportation assistance, meal assistance, medication assistance, and SPA assistance, which provides wigs, hats, and scarves for patients. On the night of the event, there was a silent auction consisting of a variety of items and baskets donated by businesses in the Maryville community and organizations at the high school, and there were many raffle drawings and games throughout the volleyball match.
At the end of the event, a total of $5,000 was raised by the Spoofhound high school volleyball team and will be donated to the St. Francis Hospital Foundation!
